From the start of 2018, the Sea Port of St. Petersburg has allocated RUB 69.4 million for its development programme. This amount is twice as much as in the same period of 2017.
The growth was caused by increased allocations for the purchase of new equipment and for modernization of the port’s environmental facilities.

As part of the upgrading programme the Port spent its resources on new full-revolving electric portal cranes with capacity of up to 40 tonnes. These cranes will be delivered to the berths during this year. The Port also acquired special tooling for transshipment of reinforcing steel.
Moreover, to modernize its infrastructure the Port of Saint Petersburg increased its allocations for its water disposal system, made plans to improve its power system facilities and completed paying for modernization of its storage facilities.
Namely, the port invested in construction of two covered storage yards with the capacity of up 10,000 tonnes each and for a new open storage yard for general cargo with a load of up to 20 tonnes per sqm allowing for handling of bulky and heavy cargo. Those facilities have already been put into operation.
Recently, the Port informed that it has allocated 11.1 million rubles to the implementation of its environmental program. This amount of funds is 3 times higher than the same amount during 2017.
Furthermore, it has invested RUB 7.3 million as part of its social programme. Over RUB 3.8 million was paid as part of the Collective Agreement with financial compensations and assistance to the employees making the bulk of payments.
