Global Energy Storage (GES) and Provaris Energy have collaborated to develop a terminal in Rotterdam, capable of importing both refrigerated ammonia and compressed hydrogen.
GES’ CEO, Peter Vucins, commented that the collaboration with Provaris showcases the types of partnerships that GES is pursuing to facilitate the energy transition through their collaboration with storage and logistics solutions, not only at Rotterdam but also at other existing and future locations. Meanwhile, Provaris’ CEO, Martin Carolan, stated that GES has a global network and track record of terminal assets and is demonstrating leadership in the development of a bulk terminal for hydrogen and derivatives for Europe.
In 2024, the studies will focus on twin jetty facilities for discharging the H2Neo carrier, scavenging compression, storage, H2 grid connection, risk and safety, emissions, and other environmental considerations.
