Chilean Agriculture service warns that some actions will be taken on all Chilean ports for ships coming from Ecuador, due to the appearance of the pest Thyreinteina arnobia ( Lagarta Eucalyptus) in Chilean ports. ISS Chile says that delays in vessel arriving to Chile from ports in Ecuador are expected.
The Chilean Agriculture Service has advised it will be carrying out the following inspections:
1. Conduct a specific daylight inspection during the inward clearance to all ships have been called at Ecuador. The inspection will be done considering if vessel coming from abroad or another Chilean port.
2. If positive detection of the pest, vessel clearance will be rejected and Effective Resolution 1984/2000 will be executed.
3. After phytosanitary treatment, an inspection will be done in order to check the total removal of eggs found on the vessel deck. Should no live pest eggs is found, the Free Pratique will be granted as long as the cargo offloading must be informed, beforehand, to the respective Customs Checkpoints Unit for audit at day light.
4. An agriculture (SAG) inspector will check cargo condition, on the vessel’s quay at daylight. Should positive presence of plague is found during cargo offloading , appropriate measures will be taken and a treatment order will be issued, at least to the inspected cargo, according to Effective Resolution 1984/2000.
