Petronas LNG Ltd, a Petronas LNG Sdn Bhd subsidiary, inked a two-year service agreement with Argo Engineering Sdn Bhd and Eastport Marine Sdn Bhd, to supply LNG ship-to-ship transfer services in Labuan.
Ship-to-ship operation is an emerging trend to address small-scale LNG needs, as it enables the transfer of LNG between two vessels located alongside each other, providing flexibility.
This collaboration aims to support Petronas’ plans to better respond to the changing LNG landscape, that surpasses the conventional selling and delivering of LNG, the company’s chairman Ahmad Adly Alias was quoted as saying by local media.
The partnership is enabled from Argo’s experience in LNG shipping and Eastport’s expertise in bunkering and ship-to-ship operations. Eastport also possesses the sole license to provide LNG bunkering and ship-to-ship services at Brunei Bay, Labuan.
