An oil tanker approached the floating oil facility Nabarima, where it is expected to offload crude via transfer at sea amid environmental concerns.
Environmental groups have expressed their concerns about a possible spill of the 1.3 million barrels of crude aboard the Nabarima oil facility, as the vessel has tilted.
PDVSA plans to offload some of the crude ovia a ship-to-ship (STS) transfer, according to Reuters. Authorities in neighboring Trinidad and Tobago have said they planned to inspect the vessel, which is located in the Paria Gulf.
The vessel had sustained a water leak, which was resolved. According to Eni, the company is attempting to offload the oil, which is subject to American sanctions.
