PARIS MOU widens the List for Low Risk Ships
With less than a month the PARIS MOU will be implementing the advanced New Inspection Regime.
Within this new regime ships will be categorized to low standard or high risk ships adjusting the inspection intervals for 2 years, 1 year and 6 months respectively.
One of the most controversial issues seems to be resolved recently with the latest addition of the Marshal Islands to the list of Flags applicable for Low Risk Ships. It should be noted that until few weeks ago the list was formed with only six (6) entries. Untill then we had the addition of key flag registries such as Cyprus, Greece, Liberia, Marshall Islands to the list with a certain estimate that more flags will join rather sooner than later.
So far the 14 flags meeting the tight criteria (White List + IMO Audit) are the following :
1. Belgium
2. Cyprus
3. Denmark
4. France
5. Germany
6. Greece
7. Liberia
8. Marshall Islands
9. Netherlands
10. Norway
11. Poland
12. Spain
13. Sweden
14. United Kingdom
The list is continuously updated and may be found at Relevant page of Paris MOU site.
