The Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) and the Shenzhen Port Authority of China have signed an agreement aimed at enhancing sustainable maritime development in both countries.
This agreement, titled the Agreement on Establishing a Brother Ports Relationship, was signed virtually on September 27 via Zoom. The partnership seeks to facilitate knowledge exchange and the application of best practices from Shenzhen, a leading technological hub in China.
This collaboration is expected to optimize Panama’s port operations and strengthen its position as a regional logistics center. Key areas of focus include port planning, construction, environmental protection, and navigation services.
The agreement will take effect immediately and remain valid until one party notifies the other of its intention to terminate the agreement.
