The Oregon LNG Project has officially announced that it is ceasing operations immediately following a decision by the owner of the project Leucadia National Corporation.
”Oregon LNG thanks all those in the project area who supported its 12-year effort to bring good jobs and tax revenues to Warrenton and Clatsop County by building a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal and associated pipeline. Oregon LNG will have no further comment.” the company said in an official statement posted on its website
The Oregon LNG project’s design would include a marine loading terminal, two full-containment 160,000 cubic meter LNG storage tanks, and facilities to support ship berthing and cargo loading. The completion date was scheduled in 2019 when the terminal would operate as a tolling facility, leasing peak-shaving and liquefaction capacity to industry partners.
