One worker died and another two were injured after a tornado hit a shipping container yard at New Zealand’s Ports of Auckland on Saturday morning.
The person’s fatal injuries occurred as the tornado threw the person at a distance, hitting a solid object, Auckland Mayor Phil Goff told reporters.

The force of the wind was so strong that 30 tonne containers were being picked up and blown about in the air, causing significant damages on the scene.

The injuries sustained by the other two persons are not life-threatening, according to local media reports.
The incident is under investigation by the police.
