SAFETY4SEA is pleased to announce that Norbulk Shipping UK Ltd has received the 2018 SAFETY4SEA Dry Bulk Operator Award at a prestigious award ceremony which successfully concluded on October the 2nd at Yacht Club of Greece in Athens, the evening ahead of the SAFETY4SEA Conference.
Norbulk Shipping UK Ltd. received the SAFETY4SEA Dry Bulk Operator Award, sponsored by ERMA FIRST, for providing technical ship management services with added value and investing in people at sea and ashore to equip them with the skill and knowledge needed to address crew requirements and contribute to increased ship safety and improved marine operations. Other short-listed nominees for this category were: Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement Ltd., Carras (Hellas) SA, Pacific Basin Shipping Ltd and Wallem Shipmanagement Ltd.

Norbulk Shipping was established in 1983. Its management offices are located in Glasgow and Riga. The company has also satellite offices in Manila, St. John NB, St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad. Norbulk employs over 3,500 highly competent and well-trained seafarers. The company believes that communication is vital for enhanced safety; this is why they engage all levels of staff and crew to their initiatives promoting an open dialogue. Among many initiatives, Norbulk offers safety / mindfulness training and presents best practices to all staff and crew. Norbulk Shipping attracted the most votes by the end of the voting period which held online during a two-month period. SAFETY4SEA Awards are held annually within the scope of awarding industry’s outstanding practices for Excellence, Sustainability, Training, Technology, Initiative and Leadership. Other winners of the 2018 SAFETY4SEA Awards are: Arcadia Shipmanagement Co.
