In addition, UN Global Compact and Nor Shipping met at the UN HQ in New York to sign the contract making Nor-Shipping an official partner for the Action Platform for Sustainable Ocean Business.
The Action Platform focuses on growth, innovation and sustainability, exploring how to protect the health of the ocean. It aims to mobilize the private sector to take action, make investments and form partnerships to leverage the ocean as a resource to deliver the Global Goals.
The objectives of the platform include developing a framework for Leadership for the Global Goals and the Ocean, inspire partnership and local action, engage in advocacy and public policy and map and gather new data.
Moreover, Nor-Shipping along with partners will connect talent with opportunity in new initiative. This will create an arena in Oslo to highlight ocean industry start-ups, young talent, sustainability, technology and innovation.
The initiative is developed in cooperation with Katapult Ocean, Oslo European Green Captial 2019, Oslo Business Region, Startup Lab, Passion for Ocean, Arena Oslo, Chooose and Just Cruzin Production.
Taking place within Nor-Shipping week, 04 to 07 June 2019, the arena will create solutions, showcase individuals, ideas and opportunities.
