According to Reuters, officials reported on Wednesday that at least nine of the 16-member crew of a Comoros-flagged oil tanker, which capsized off the coast of Oman on Monday, have been rescued, while one crew member was found dead.
The incident involved the Prestige Falcon, a 117-meter oil product tanker, which was en route to the Yemeni port of Aden with 13 Indian crew members and three Sri Lankan crew members when it capsized near Oman’s major industrial port of Duqm. The cause of the capsizing remains unknown.
Search and rescue operations have successfully found 10 crew members of the oil tanker Prestige Falcon, 9 found alive. Tragically, one crew member was found deceased.

The search continues for the remaining crew members, as confirmed by the security center without providing additional information.
Among those rescued are eight Indians and one Sri Lankan, according to a spokesperson from the Indian navy, which is actively involved in the ongoing search and rescue efforts.
