Flagship Founders has launched Sealenic, its fifth startup, which is developing an AI-powered maritime information retrieval and management platform.
The platform aims to simplify the process of finding and interpreting essential information for shipping companies, such as safety procedures, checklists, and maritime regulations, using AI. Sealenic, led by Founder and Managing Director Billel Ridelle, is building a platform that allows users to easily search for information on various topics like HSEQ, safety, and nautical issues.
Development partners including Reederei F. Laeisz, Fairplay Towage Group, and Harren Ship Management are currently testing the solution in their operational processes, with plans for a broad market launch this summer. The feedback from these partners will be used to optimize the software.
Utilizing AI technology and Large Language Models (LLMs) such as OpenAI, users can enter their queries into a search interface and receive a comprehensible and reliable answer, including details of relevant information sources. The system is designed to prioritize private company data, ensuring compliance with company rules and regulations.
Billel Ridelle emphasized the importance of integrating AI technology into a software solution to fully utilize its strengths while ensuring data security. He believes Sealenic will set new standards in information management in the maritime industry.
Meanwhile, Fabian Feldhaus, Co-Founder and Managing Director at Flagship Founders, expressed excitement about Sealenic’s market potential and its ability to address major industry challenges with technology.
