ZeroNorth has launched a platform to improve data integration between bunker suppliers and buyers through its eBDN solution.
According to the company, this new platform automates the transition of eBDN data into procurement systems, enabling automatic matching with supplier orders and initiating payment processes without manual intervention. This advancement addresses the bunker market’s legacy manual processes that often result in data inaccuracies, leading to increased claims and costs.
By enhancing transparency and operational efficiency, the integration fosters stronger supplier relationships and ensures adherence to payment schedules.

The initial rollout of ZeroNorth’s eBDN solution has been implemented in Singapore, a leading bunkering hub. In 2023, Singapore accounted for nearly 23% of global marine fuel deliveries, with 44,746 bunker deliveries totaling 51.8 million mt out of approximately 225 million mt globally.
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) plans to make eBDN mandatory in the second half of 2024. This adoption in Singapore is expected to lay the groundwork for the global expansion of the technology, significantly enhancing transparency across the bunker value chain.
