A new marine training centre has been established along the River Clyde, marking the first of its kind in Glasgow to be run by qualified Merchant and Royal Navy marine professionals. Glasgow City Boats offers training courses, delivered by marine professionals.
The company will offer courses in practical boat driving, navigation, sea survival, marine radio, first aid and other courses, such as basic seamanship, health and safety, rope work and splicing.

John Mackenzie, co-founder and principal, said that he spotted a gap in the market for a marine training academy along the River Clyde, run by Merchant and Royal Navy professionals.
He explained that the aim of the centre is to the provide the training that students and marine professionals need. What is more, the company wants to offer another way to explore Glasgow for tourists to the city, as well as locals who want to see the city.
In order for the centre to ensure that if offers quality services, it offers on-demand training and sightseeing tours for Glasgow and surrounding area.
