Jiangxi New Jiangzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry and Shenzhen Haihong Shipping signed a contract for the construction of a 7,000 m³ LEG carrier in Ruichang City.
The vessel is the world’s first domestically designed and manufactured semi-cooled, semi-pressurized LEG carrier, suitable for transporting various gases including ethylene, ethane, propylene, propane, butane, and more.
It measures 115 meters in length, 19 meters in width, with a depth of 10.4 meters, a design draft of 6.1 meters, and a structural draft of 6.6 meters, boasting a load capacity of up to 6,200 tons, powered by a single diesel engine with a speed of 14.5 knots, suitable for international unrestricted navigation.
Furthermore, it has two independent single-cylinder C-type tanks of 3,500 m³ each, equipped with loading and unloading equipment that allows for simultaneous transport of one or two types of goods.
The vessel is designed with an invisible bulbous bow (VS-BOW) and includes a post-paddle energy-saving device called “CAPRO.” It will fly the Chinese flag and is built to the standards of the China Classification Society.
Attending the signing ceremony were He Xudong, Chairman of Qinshi Group Co., Ltd., Han Xu, Partner of Shanghai Yiqiao Haikong Industrial Development Co., Ltd., Wang Yi, General Manager of Shenzhen Haihong Shipping, and relevant leaders from the Ruichang Municipal Committee and government.
