With a new Safetytech PoC Fund, the Safetytech Accelerator aims to facilitate the trials of digital products and services that can significantly enhance safety and reduce risk in safety-critical industries and infrastructure.
The Safetytech Accelerator is a not-for-profit initiative launched by Lloyd’s Register (LR) and Lloyd’s Register Foundation in 2018.
So far, it has tackled 16 global pilot projects, or ‘Challenge Partners’, including Wallenius Wilhelmsen, Scorpio, P66, Pepsi Cola, Seaspan, Shell, GB’s Health and Safety Executive, KOTUG, PIL and many more.
The Accelerator has done great work in the past two years with companies who have trialled innovative solutions from early-stage digital companies at their sites, ranging from sensor technology, machine learning, AI and computer vision systems and data analytics. With the launch of the Safetytech PoC Fund, we are now ready to embark on new collaborations with corporates and startups
added Dr Maurizio Pilu, Managing Director of the Safetytech Accelerator.
What is more, Richard Clegg, Chief Executive of the Lloyd’s Register Foundation added that the Safetytech market has the potential to make the world in hundreds of billions of dollars safer.
