ABB and Wallenius Marine introduced OVERSEA; a digital offering and fleet support center for the maritime industry. The two companies have developed OVERSEA to help ship owners, operators and managers enhance the efficiency and sustainability of vessel operations.
OVERSEA enables measurable performance improvements for vessels, leading to decreased fuel consumption and reduced emissions. It also helps address such aspects of vessel performance as hull and machinery, speed and route planning, as well as emissions and carbon intensity reporting.
Analysing insights into vessel’s operational data, OVERSEA will be able to recommend concrete actions to shipping companies to help them improve energy efficiency, safety and reliability of operations.
With clear recommendations to the crew, based on data-driven analysis, vessel owners and operators are able to significantly reduce both their environmental footprint and fuel cost
said Johan Mattsson, CEO, Wallenius Marine.
In addition, Jyri Jusslin, Head of Service, ABB Marine & Ports, explained that “OVERSEA allows turning insights into actions that can significantly improve the efficiency and sustainability of vessel operations.”
The digital solution will be deployed on piloting vessels during late 2022. After the pilot period is finished successfully, the companies can start onboarding customers.
During 2023 we will have the full solution available to the market
said the partners, noting that “as a full digitalization deployment takes time, we are ready to start mapping the needs and check the data readiness with customers. This kind of feasibility analysis projects we have started with external customers already today in September 2022.”
