M1 Limited (M1), Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and SSI Solutions have entered into a strategic, non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to drive the adoption of 5G technology in Vietnam Maritime Corporation’s (VIMC) maritime operations.
This collaboration involves M1’s maritime 5G expertise, VNPT’s 5G network infrastructure, and SSI Solutions’ integration of technology into VIMC’s operations to enhance Vietnam’s maritime efficiency. The partnership aims to introduce 5G-powered use cases to optimize operations and advance VIMC’s digital transformation.
VNPT highly appreciate the strengths and experience of SSI and M1 in consulting and deploying 5G for vertical industries, especially the seaport industry, and hope that this cooperation would bring benefits to all parties and all would gain significant revenue from 5G technology,

These applications include tele-remote equipment control, enhanced automated guided vehicle (AGV) operations, and advanced surveillance systems.

As informed, M1 is also undertaking a multi-year project to provide 5G standalone (SA) offshore coverage for Singapore’s southern coast, in collaboration with MPA and IMDA.
