The Port of Helsinki announced the construction of a new Royal Park carpark to the West Harbour, expected to operate from early 2021. The carpark will serve the ship passengers and the customers of the planned sports and event centre.
The carpark will take shape near West Terminal 2 but will also serve the passengers of West Terminal 1.
The new Royal Park carpark will be the first part of Royal Center.
According to port data, the construction starts immediately and will complete by the beginning of 2021.
Port of Helsinki Ltd leases the building and will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of the carpark.
Designed by AW2 Architects, the circular carpark’s facade will be made of glass and aluminium.
In addition, it will include approximately 730 car parking spaces, electric vehicle charging points and bicycle parking spaces as well as a lobby area.
Modern parking services are an important part of smooth travel. The Port of Helsinki wants to improve the passenger experience and facilitate the advance reservation of parking spaces, the parking itself and paying for it,
