Maersk Fluid Technology launched SEA-Mate Blending-on-Board lubrication system, an innovative concept compared to conventional lubrication practices. It reduces lube oil consumption by up to 40%, cuts fuel consumption by 1.5% at slow steaming, prevents cold corrosion and reduces maintenance costs.
The innovation allows the oil system to be continuously refreshed, so that particles and deposits are no longer accumulated in the engine. This leads to more efficient running of the seperator and preheater, reducing sludge generated and energy consumed.
