SAFETY4SEA is pleased to announce that Mr. Andreas Chrysostomou, Chief Strategy Officer, Tototheo Maritime has received the 2020 GREEN4SEA Leadership Award, sponsored by ANDRITZ AG, at a prestigious award ceremony which successfully concluded on March 3rd at Yacht Club of Greece in Athens, the evening ahead of the 2020 GREEN4SEA Athens Forum.
Presenting the award Mr. Marco Dierico, Sales & Proposal Manager, ANDRITZ AG, said “We are honored to sponsor this award which acknowledges Mr. Chrysostomou’s leadership role all these years within the maritime industry. Throughout his career, Mr. Chrysostomoy has held several important and high profile positions, being at the front of industry’s developments.’’
Accepting the award, Mr. Andreas Chrysostomou stated “It is a real honour to receive this award by GREEN4SEA. I am really pleased and happy that my contribution to green shipping and in shipping in general is being recognised by peers. This is a real motive for me to continue working and contributing towards the reduction of our industry’s environmental footprint”
Mr. Chrysostomou is a seasoned professional with a long-standing career in the shipping industry. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Naval Architecture and an MBA. Mr. Chrysostomou has held senior management roles in fields such as safety and security, protection of the marine environment and administration. Before joining Tototheo Maritime as CSO in 2018, he was the Director of the Department of Merchant Shipping, Cyprus. In the past, he has also been the CEO of Transmed shipping Co. Ltd. and Act. Secretary General of CLIA Europe. Mr. Chrysostomou has served as the elected Chairman of the Design and Equipment IMO Sub-Committee and of MEPC. He was twice elected and re-elected Chairman of the International Mobile Satellite Organization and served as member of the Board of Governors of the WMU. He has also served as President of the Institute of IMarEST. Mr. Chrysostomou’s accomplishments have been recognized by the shipping industry worldwide for which he has received many prestigious awards.

GREEN4SEA Awards are held annually within the scope of awarding industry’s outstanding practices for green shipping excellence, technology, initiative, clean shipping practices, green ports and personalities that are leading the path toward a more sustainable future.
