On 28 January the Moroccan Royal Navy conducted two emergency evacuations for crew members aboard foreign vessels near the port of Mohammedia.
The first operation took place when the cargo ship Linden suffered an engine failure about 2.5 kilometers southeast of the port. Local reports state that upon receiving the distress signal, the Royal Navy swiftly responded by deploying a helicopter to evacuate two critically ill crew members.
A naval unit was also sent to monitor the situation and provide additional support.
Furthermore, later that same day, another distress call came from the Chinese cargo ship Tai Hua Wan, reporting that three crew members were in serious condition.
A second helicopter was dispatched to evacuate them, and civil protection teams took over upon arrival to ensure they received the necessary medical treatment.
The operations were coordinated with the Royal Gendarmerie and the Maritime Search and Rescue Center.
