Bunker supplier uses e-purchasing
Software company Marine Software of the UK has supplied its MPS-Marine Purchasing solution to Bunkers (Gibraltar), for installation on board the 4,270gt ‘MT Europa Supplier I’ and at the ship management technical offices.
The software is due to go live on the vessel once the head office has configured the central approved supplier listing, account codes and consumable catalogue listings.
According to Marine Software, Bunkers Gibraltar required an easy solution where crew requisition requests could be quickly raised and transmitted back to the office system for tendering and final purchase ordering. Small data file exchanges between vessel and office give an up-to-date view of latest ordering status from both locations.
A fully integrated budget system compares actual costs for purchase orders against budget, offering the ability to drill down by expense code to track where money is spent.
Supporting information such as photographs, quotations, delivery notes and supplier email correspondence can be stored against each order for auditing purposes.
