As Port of Aberdeen stated, a man died as a result of an incident on board a vessel in Aberdeen South Harbour at approximately 4pm on Saturday 22 July.
The Port of Aberdeen is aiding the relevant authorities with their inquiries while the emergency services responded to the event. Authorities were unable to confirm, however it is believed the incident happened on board the 180-meter-long, 37,668 DWT bulk carrier Iberian Bulker, which is registered in Denmark and is owned by J. Lauritzen subsidiary Lauritzen Bulkers.

Despite the emergency services’ response, Albert Ross, also known as Abbey, died at the scene. He was a 67-year-old local from Aberdeen.
