According to Interfax Energy, Asian spot LNG prices fell by 5.81% the previous week, which was the sixth consecutive week of declines. Prices ended last week on $8.71/MMBtu, compared with $10.02/MMBtu for the equivalent week a year ago.
Yet, prices for trucked LNG rapidly increased last week across China’s top markets because of cold weather and created a strong demand for heating. Consumer prices surged by 20.3% last week from the previous week.
