Lithuania’s energy terminals’ operator Klaipedos Nafta has signed agreement with the Spanish Association of Natural Gas for Mobility, GASNAM to develop standards for the use of LNG
The Baltic Course reports that the two companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for their cooperation in regulating the supply of LNG as fuel for ships or transport of LNG by tank trucks.
“It is only natural for us to become a partner of the organization, which brings together gas market participants, because we can share our experience with international market players and standardize certain processes together with them,” Mantas Bartuska, CEO of the state-controlled company, said in a press release
Reuters reports that Lithuania’s parliament has approved amendments which will allow the country to re-sell LNG on the international markets. Also, the Baltic state might become the first in Europe to receive LNG cargo from the United States next February.
