Keppel Corp has officially announced that it has entered into a shareholders agreement with Shell to provide LNG bunkering services in Singapore. The two companies will have a 50 percent stake each in the joint venture company.
The joint venture company will establish a LNG bunkering business in Singapore. Its principal business activities will be to supply LNG bunkering operations services in Singapore to ships and any other marine vessels in the Singapore port and other related services.
Singapore is today the world’s leading fuel bunkering hub.The country aims to accommodate all vessels operating on LNG fuel by 2020 and by issuing bunker supply licenses it will position the Singapore Maritime as an LNG hub.
In January, Port of Singapore awarded two LNG bunker supplier licences to Pavilion Gas Pte Ltd and a joint proposal of Keppel Offshore & Marine and BG Group plc (BG Group – Keppel)
