Reuters reports that Japan’s Coast Guard suspended its search operations for the crewmembers of the striken cattle ship in the East China Sea due to the typhoon.
To remind, Panamanian-flagged livestock carrier, Gulf Livestock 1, with 43 crewmembers onboard is said to have been lost southwest of Japan after sailing into a typhoon moving across the region.
The coast guard found a third crewmember alive on Friday, and while the search continued, vessels, airplanes and divers were pulled out due to bad weather, Junpei Sakaguchi, an officer at search and rescue division at the 10th regional maritime safety headquarters of Japan Coast Guard cited to Reuters.
They added that they will resume the search operations when the weather conditions improve.
