The Israeli Navy has proceeded to the arrest of a stowaway on board a container ship that was moored outside the port of Haifa. Reports mention that the man was attempting to set the vessel on fire.
On Sunday June 9, the Israeli Navy responded to a fire onboard a moored container ship at the port of Haifa. Namely, the Navy received information by a foreign cargo vessel that it had been set on fire by unknown people, local media reported.

According to Sputnik news agency, the unidentified people tried to take control of the ship, while the fire began during the argument. The incident is considered to be criminal, but no further details about the incident are public.
The MSC Canberra had departed from the Turkish port of Mersin flying a Panamanian flag, and was planned to arrive at Haifa before sailing to the Israeli port of Ashdod.
