IMO’s Interactive Workshop on General Principles of Drafting National Legislation to Implement IMO Conventions, was held at IMO Headquarters in London, on 18-22 September 2017.
This five-day training for lawyers aims to provide participants with the tools necessary to understand global treaties, how they are developed and adopted.
As explained, some of the biggest challenges that law makers face when drafting national legislation to implement IMO Conventions, include their difficulty to understand the technical aspects, the process of getting the national legislation approved in a global level, the complex inter-agency cooperation, etc.
