The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has announced a photography competition in honour of Black History Month this October.
The theme for this year’s photo contest is ‘Diversity at Sea,’ celebrating multiculturalism within the maritime sector. IMO invites photo submissions from all skill levels showcasing unique perspectives on maritime life.
Whether capturing diverse crews, the rich cultural mosaic of port cities, or the daily experiences of maritime professionals worldwide, IMO wants a glimpse into the personal interpretation of ‘Diversity at Sea’.

- Results announcement: 11 October 2024
Winning entries, along with a selection of highly commended submissions, will be displayed online and in-person in physical displays at the IMO Headquarters. The winners will be announced during IMO’s Black History Month panel event on 11 October 2024.
