GTT (Gaztransport & Technigaz) confirms an order for two large LNGCs (Liquefied Natural Gas Carriers), which are in the third quarter 2014 order book. The two ships will be built by the Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries.
The LNGCs are expected to be delivered between 2016 and 2017 and will be built with the innovative Mark III flex membrane technology, which allows an optimized daily boil-off rate of cargo LNG.
These vessels will be owned by the Algerian shipping company Hyproc, which has been operating GTT-designed LNG carriers since 1971 and reaffirms regularly its trust in GTT membrane systems.
Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT commented: “HHI and Hyproc are two long-term partners. We are delighted to see that these companies have chosen, once again, membrane containment solutions for their new buildings”.
