The HomePort Hamburg turned one year old in November 2022. The above video demonstrates how technology shapes the future of port of Hamburg and which innovations were presented and tested during 2022.
In the heart of the port, homePORT provides space for collaboration and innovation to bring together companies, start-ups, universities and researchers. This is how we want to shape the maritime economy and port of the future together today
Recently, the port authority announced that from February 1, 2023, it will increase port usage fees by five percent. Excluded from this adjustment are launches and day trip boats. By not increasing the fees, the difficult situation of the passenger ships due to the after-effects of the corona pandemic is particularly appreciated.
Friedrich Stuhrmann, Chief Commercial Officer of the HPA, said: “The recent very high inflation of up to ten percent also affects us and our costs. In order to continue to maintain the development status of the port, we therefore have to adjust our prices. It was important for us to proceed with the increase with a sense of proportion. With an increase of five percent, we are well below inflation.”
