The impact of climate change is already impacting the ecosystems, economic sectors and people’s health and well-being in Europe. In order to present how climate change can affect Europe, the European Parliament created an infographic depicting the impacts of climate change in each region of the continent.
According to the infographic all regions are affected, but not in the same way. The effects have been mostly negative, such as in the Mediterranean where more heat extremes and less rain are expected. This situation could increase competition for water, while producing energy will become more difficult.

However, in some cases there are some benefits, such as a lower demand for heating and better conditions for agriculture in northern Europe.
As for Arctic, higher temperatures are expected in the region and less ice will cover the area. This could generate more opportunities for exploiting natural resources and transporting by sea. Nevertheless, it will also increase the livelihoods of local people.
