The Government of Hong Kong updated the conditions and quarantine rules for visiting vessels and removed the COVID-19 related restrictions on bunker-only calls. The change is in effect as of April 1.
hips coming from COVID-19 high-risk countries are not henceforth obliged to quarantine for 14 days upon their arrival at Hong Kong, since this restriction has been lifted.
What is more, the ships having called at ports will have to state in their Pre-arrival Notification (PAN) the reason for entering Hong Kong. This PAN will have to be submitted at least 24h prior to the ship’s arrival.
In addition, the vessels that enter Hong Kong’s water for bunkering, will need to berth at anchorage areas designated by the Marine Department during their stay in Hong Kong.
In January, in order to stop the coming COVID-19 wave, the Hong Kong government had made a series of announcements, declaring new stringent measures for entry into the country, banning flights from certain countries and extending entry bans.
