Hapag-Lloyd has reached a significant milestone with the launch and delivery of the charter vessel Nordatlantic, increasing its fleet to the 300 vessels, the largest in its 177-year history.
The Nordatlantic will soon be joined by sister ships Nordbaltic and Nordpuma as part of a package deal with Reederei NORD Group, strengthening the company’s intra-Asia feeder services and supporting fleet upgrades.

In 2024, Hapag-Lloyd’s capacity grew by 18.7%, reaching 2.3 million TEU, according to Hansa Online. This expansion reflects the company’s focus on enhancing global trade connections and fleet development.
Rolf Habben Jansen, Hapag-Lloyd’s CEO, in 14 November 2024 that he expects continued strength in container shipping volumes, which are driven by global demand for transporting goods and seen as a proxy for trade and a health barometer for the world economy.
