Bunker fuel was spilled on board and then over board on the quay and into water
Fuel oil was released from the Carten Maria (flag of Barbados) into waters of Big Port St. Petersburg last night, on May 23.
The incident occurred at around midnight (MT) when bunkering from the tanker Pakri (operator NT-Bunkering), Deputy General Director of Baltic Emergency and Rescue Department Sergei Saveliev, told PortNews.
Bunker fuel was spilled on board of the MV and then over her board on the quay and into water.
The oil spill response team collected 0,2 cbm of oily mixture using three vessels, cleared the Carten Maria board and completed the operation this early morning, Mr. Saveliev said.
