According to KEGM, over the weekend, four ships collide each other in two separate incidents south of Istanbul, in the Sea of Marmara.
Luckily, neither incident resulted in a disruption of the Turkish Straits’ maritime commerce, any human casualties, or any environmental degradation.
In particular, on 17th September bulk carrier NEW LEGEND struck stern of anchored container ship ELBSUN at Ahirkapi anchorage, Istanbul, Marmara sea, while maneuvering to anchor.
Furthermore, on 17th September, passenger ro-ro ship PATRIA SEAWAYS collided with bulk carrier YASA PIONEER in Marmara sea some 6 nm south of Yasa island.
As explained, PATRIA SEAWAYS was under way, shortly after she left Tuzla, bound for Trieste.
