FKAB announced that a basic design project contract signed with the Chinese shipyard Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry has become effective and the project is up and running.
The extended Basic Design includes also the independent cargo tanks, model tests, FEM calculations, but also electrical documents and further development into partly detail design for Yards further construction . The independent cargo tanks, with the second barrier and insulation, called LNT A-Box, have been developed by LNT. The technology consists of an IMO independent type-A tank placed in an insulated hold space.
The Chinese shipyard has never built gas carriers before but they have been commissioned by Landmark Capital to construct the vessel. Landmark Capital was founded by the offshore specialist, David Wu. FKAB is grateful for the confidence Landmark Holdings, LNG New Technologies and shipyard have shown us, participating in the design of the captioned project.
