On January 2, the new-built, battery-ran ferry made its entrance on the Sulesund-Hareid route. Two more ships are to be delivered for this route in winter.
Specifically, NB59 Hadaroy was launched at Cembre II shipyard in Turkey in June 2018. When completed, the vessel was transferred to Norway for fitting out.

Also, the battery ferry is Havyard’s first of a series of 12 ferry designs for Fjord1. Featuring a length of 111 meters and a width of 17 meters, the ship is able to reach the speed of 10 knots.
The vessel can carry 400 passengers and 120 cars across the fjord in an efficient manner, and minimal energy consumption has been a key focus in the development of the design.
Concluding, Hadaroy is part of the green shipping plan that takes place in Norwegian frry operations and aspires to contribute to the enhancement of the environment.
