Captain Schettino trial is still under way
Four Costa Concordia crew members and a company official have been sentenced to jail in Italy for their part in the 2012 cruise ship disaster that killed 32 people. Cruise shipCosta Concordia sank on January 13, 2013 resulting in the death of 32 persons and the injury of 157 others.
The five received sentences of between 18 and 34 months for multiple manslaughter, negligence and shipwreck – relatively short terms for the crimes, in exchange for pleading guilty.

According to Costa Concordia Accident Report issued this May , the main cause of the casualty is attributed to“the Master’s unconventional behavior”.
