Nicole Langosch has been appointed as captain in the vessel AIDAsol. As a result she became the first woman in the position of captain in the AIDA fleet. Currently, AIDA Cruises employs 14 female nautical officers aboard its fleet.
Nicole Langosch was born in Osterode in Harz, Germany and completed her nautical studies in Leer. A little later she worked for a container shipping company in New Zealand and for the European Parliament in Brussels. Ms. Langosch completed her first nautical internship on a container ship. She has now been working for ten years on the AIDA ships.
Nicole Langosch stated:

The 253 meter long and 32 meter wide AIDAsol is one of 12 vessels of the AIDA fleet and is currently operating between the Canary Islands and Madeira.
