In particular, a fire erupted aboard the vessel while it was moored in Ashtabula, situated southwest of Erie, Ohio, on Lake Erie. The US Coast Guard (USCG) has confirmed the safety of the captain and crew, with fire teams from both the city and national authorities dispatched to the scene. USCG vessels and helicopters have been mobilized to aid in extinguishing the blaze.
