A rescue operation was underway off the coast of Sweden on August 29, as Swedish maritime authorities reported that a car ferry with almost 300 individuals on board caught fire.
According to Jonas Franzen, the spokesman associated with Swedish Maritime Administration, there was a fire on the car’s deck, adding that that seven vessels and three helicopters were immediately deployed , and an evacuation of the vessel had started.
There were no reports of injuries, and the cause of the fire was not yet known.
According to other sources, the fire is now under control.
The fire seems to have started in a cooling truck and its was limited.
