A fire was reported on August 29, on a passenger ferry carrying nearly 300 people from Sweden to Latvia, with officials informing that the blaze is being addressed. No injuries were reported.
The ferry took place onboard the Stena Scandica, north of Sweden’s Baltic Sea island of Gotland. No one was evacuated but one person on the ferry said passengers had gathered on the upper deck.
According to the Swedish ferry company Stena Line, there were 241 passengers and 58 crew members onboard the Stena Scandica, traveling from Nynashamn in Sweden to Ventspils in Latvia.
The fire is located to a reefer unit on a truck and the crew are currently working on extinguishing the fire using the extinguishing system onboard.
Earlier in the day, Stefan Elfström, a spokesperson for Stena Line, told local media that there are no reports of injuries.
