According to Barcelona authorities, a cargo ship collided with a loading crane in the port, causing a fire on October 31. No injuries were reported, while firefighters are assessing the situation, as they have controlled the fire.
Namely, the Ro-Ro-passenger ship Excellent collided with the crane, and in addition to the fire four containers fell from the ship.
Several firefighting units were deployed to put out the fire and they eventually managed to control it using foam. Firefighters are still on the scene assessing if the cargo can cause any further risk.
No people were injured in the accident, but there are a number of ambulances dispatched.
The cause of the incident is still unknown.
