On May 1, 2024, at the Baltimore Key Bridge incident site, the Unified Command recovered the fifth body of another missing victim.
The victim was identified as Miguel Angel Luna Gonzalez, aged 49, from Glen Burnie, Maryland. Unified Command salvage teams located one of the missing construction vehicles and promptly informed the Maryland Department of State Police.
Responding to the scene were Maryland State Police investigators, Maryland Transportation Authority Police officers, and FBI personnel, who recovered the body of a fifth construction worker found inside a red truck. Assistance in the operation was provided by the Maryland State Police Underwater Recovery Team and Crime Scene Unit.
Colonel Roland L. Butler, Jr., Superintendent of the Maryland Department of State Police, expressed dedication to the ongoing recovery operations, acknowledging the profound loss experienced by the victims’ families. He urged everyone to extend their deepest sympathies and support to the families during this challenging time.
