The ferry ‘Nearchos’ ran aground off Santorini, Greece, on October 27. The ship suffered a controlled water ingress, while at the time of the incident, it was carrying 13 crew, 5 passengers and 5 trucks.
When the ferry ran aground, it sustained damages to its hull and experienced minor water ingress in portside bow section, while patrol boats came to the scene to assist.
‘Nearchos’ had 13 crew, 5 passengers and 5 trucks on board and was heading to Santorini from Mykonos.
The ferry is now anchored off Nea Kameni island, to undergo underwater survey, while the patrol boats are still on the scene in case help is needed.
