On January 25, a man died after falling onboard a containership at the Port of Los Angeles, as the LA Fire Department informed.
More specifically, the department received notification that a man had fallen from the ship’s superstructure onto a stack of containers on deck, a distance of about 50 feet.
Local paramedics rushed to the ship and attempted to revive the victim, but he was “beyond medical help” and was declared dead on the scene.
Currently, the LA Port Police is investigating the circumstances under which the incident happened, while the U.S. Coast Guard has also been notified.
